1/48 Aircraft Series No.57

1/48 SCALE HEINKEL He219A-7 UHU

Length: 355.2 mm. Image shows painted and assembled kit.

The He 219 was arguably the Luftwaffe's best nightfighter during WWII and was notable for an extraordinary debut mission in June 1943 when a prototype shot down five RAF Lancaster bombers. This kit depicts the final production variant, the A-7, which was equipped with DB 603G engines for improved high-altitude performance. Only 268 were manufactured, but they were an important element of the Luftwaffe, taking on RAF rivals such as the Mosquito in defensive night fighter roles.
