Race Regulations of Tamiya Euro-Cup 2001

September 15-16, 2001 Nuremberg, Germany

The following regulations are for the TAMIYA Euro-Cup 2001. For more details, ask your local agent.

4WD CLASS

Car must be built following the instruction manual with original Tamiya parts. All parts must be used as supplied in the box and/or cut as outlined. Cars eligible are TA03F, TA03F-PRO, TA03RS, TA03R, TA03FS, TA04, TA04-PRO, TB01 and TL01 chassis cars.
Only Tamiya tune-up parts, from those listed in a separate list, may be used.
Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Wire can be modified at the bottom of connector to accept other types of speed controller connectors. Wire length must exceed 3 cm.
Motor must be from Tamiya. Wires of speed controller can be soldered to motor. Repair work is acceptable only with Tamiya original parts.
Car does not have to be equipped with cockpit detail and a driver figure.
Minimum weight of car ready to run to be 1,500g.

F-1 & GT-1 CLASS

Car must be built following the instruction manual with original Tamiya parts. All parts must be used as supplied in the box and/or cut as outlined. Cars eligible are F103, F103RS, F103RX, and F103-LM chassis cars.
Only Tamiya tune-up parts, from those listed in a separate list, may be used.
Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Wires can be modified at the bottom of connector to accept other types of speed controller connectors. Wire length must exceed 3 cm.
Only 53272 Dyna Run Racing Stock Motor is allowed. Motor will be provided by organizer. Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed. However, wires of speed controller can be soldered to motor.
F-1 cars and open-top cars must have a driver figure.
Minimum weight of car ready to run to be 1,000g for F-1 and 1,100g for GT-1.

STOCK CLASS

Car must be built following the instruction manual with original Tamiya parts. All parts must be used as supplied in the box and/or cut as outlined. Cars eligible are TL01 chassis cars only.
No tune-up parts are allowed, except for the separately listed ones.
Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Those batteries should be used as supplied. No modifications to the wires or connectors are allowed.
Standard 540 motors will be provided. Drivers must use the motors as provided including wires. Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed.
Speed controller is limited to a 3-step mechanical switch as supplied in the box. Servo size must be as indicated in the assembly instructions of the kit.
Minimum weight of car ready to run to be 1,550g.
"Junior" drivers have to be born on and after the 1st January 1987.

RALLY CLASS

Car must be built following the instruction manual with original Tamiya parts. All parts must be used as supplied in the box and/or cut as outlined. Cars eligible for qualification are TB01 chassis cars with a Tamiya rally car body.

Only Tamiya tune-up parts, from those listed in a separate list, may be used.

Batteries shall be supplied by the race organizer to all drivers. Wire can be modified at the bottom of connector to accept other types of speed controller connectors. Wire length must exceed 3 cm.

Only Dyna-Run Racing Stock Motor (53272) is allowed. The motor will be supplied. Any attempt to modify or to influence the ability of the motor is not allowed. However, wires of speed controller can be soldered to motor.

Car does not have to be equipped with chassis dust cover and driver/co-driver figures.

Minimum weight of car as ready to run to be 1,600g.

GENERAL RULES

Radios must be crystal changeable. A third crystal should be available.
Each race will be of 5 minutes duration plus the time to complete the last lap.
Any modification not described in the regulations is not allowed.
Modifications that destroy the form of the original car are not allowed.
Any other issues not clarified in the regulations shall be handled at the discretion of the race organizer.

Notification dated May 29, 2001

1) The cars which shall be allowed at the Final

Models up to 58273 Subaru Impreza 2001 WRC and 58274 TA04-S Chassis Kit are allowed at the 2001 Euro-Cup Final.
58220 Mobil 1 NSX, 58227 TA03R-TRF Special Chassis Kit, and 58243 TA03R-S TRF Special Chassis Kit are allowed for the 4WD class.
58258 F103-LM TRF Special Chassis Kit is allowed for F-1/GT-1 class.
(As optional parts included in these kits are also available separately.)
58223 Castrol Mugen NSX and 58244 Mercedes CLK GT-R Original Teile are allowed to run in Stock Class, although these kits include 53345 TL01/M03 Toe-in Rear Upright and 50808 TG10 Rear Long Wheel.Consequently, it is allowed to use the above parts in Stock class.
"Indy" cars or F103L chassis cars (58134 Newman Haas Lola and 58148 Rahal Hogan Lola) are not allowed for the F-1/GT-1 class, as previously.
Only TL-01 chassis cars are allowed for the Stock class. FF and M chassis cars are not allowed.
58267 TB-Evolution Chassis Kit is not allowed to race in any category.
TRF414, 414X, 414M are not allowed to race in any category.

2) Regulations

Parts released by the end of May 2001 shall be allowed:
50915 Corvette C5-R Body Parts Set in Spare Parts series.
53472 TA04 Toe-in Rear Uprights in Hop-up Options.
List of usable parts will be shown in this web page as soon as it is completed. Note the lists are still subject to change, in case we find it necessary.
As the Final races use a carpet track, the organizer will set the minimum ground clearance to every category, in order to avoid damage to the carpet.

F-1 & GT-1 Class

* Tires are limited to 53349/53350 F-1 Reinforced Slicks Type A and 53374/53375 Slicks Type-B. The wheels and inner sponge must be the original parts included in the set.

Stock Class

*Use of 53345 TL01/M03 Toe-in Upright and 50808 TG10 Rear Long Wheel Axle is allowed.
*The organizer will check the track surface (carpet) condition and specify a Tamiya tire suitable for the surface. One of the following tires is to be specified:
<50419 Racing Radial Tires, 50454 Racing Slicks, 50810 Racing Semi-Slicks>

4WD Class

*Use of 58267 TB-Evolution Chassis Kit is not allowed.
*Use of TRF414, 414X or 414M is not allowed.
*Use of 53371 Touring Car Racing Rear Wing and 53470 Lightweight Wing Set is allowed.

Rally Class

*The organizer will check the track surface (carpet) condition and specify a Tamiya tire suitable for the surface. One of the following tires is to be specified:
<50419 Racing Radial Tires, 50476 Rally Block Tires, 50810 Racing Semi-Slicks>
*In case the Rally Block Tire is selected after the above test, tire diameter checking will be executed during the Final, as the last year, using a template.
*Some high-priced parts, and the options intended for on-road use, are not allowed (refer to the separate list).

3) Goods Prepared by Tamiya/Organizer

*Ni-Cd running battery… 5 pieces each for all drivers (2400 mAh for 4WD class drivers, 1700 mAh for other three categories)
*Stock 540 Motor … 2 pieces each for Stock Class drivers.
*53272 Dyna-Run Racing Stock Motor … 2 pieces each for F-1/GT-1 and Rally Class drivers.
NOTE : Tires/wheels for F-1/GT-1 class are not prepared.
*In order to minimize the possible hazard to the health of drivers, as well as the damage to the track carpet surface, the organizer shall select and specify a tire additive which shall be allowed at the 2001 Euro-Cup Final. The specified tire additive will be supplied to each team by the organizer.
