1/48 Scale Messerschmitt Me262 A-1a Clear Edition (Finished Model)
Witness the Dawn of a New Age in Aviation
One of the most revolutionary aircraft ever built, the Messerschmitt Me262 was the world's first ever combat proven jet-powered fighter plane, heralding the end of the age of propeller aviation. Fitted with a Junkers Jumo 004B turbojet engine, the Messerschmitt Me262 was capable of reaching speeds of 870km/h, far outmatching any Allied planes. After his first test-flight with the Me262, the Luftwaffe ace Adolf Galland is said to have remarked, "It felt as if angels were pushing". The Messerschmitt is the first aircraft in our Masterwork Collection and features a transparent fuselage and engine nacelle to allow viewing of the engine, fuel tank, 30mm cannon and other internal mechanisms.
