| 【 The 1976 World Champion 】 Winning the 1976 manufacture championship was the excellent Porsche 935 "Martini" turbo. Based on the road legal 930 turbo, it was named in relation to Group-5 racing. In meeting the regulations, the 935 was powered by a 2857cc inline 6 cylinder turbo engine which thumped out approximately 590hp. On the lightweight body was a large rear wing and a flat nose which produced superior aero dynamics allowing the Porsche to win 4 of the 7 season races. |
