【 Chic & Gorgeous 】 　The topic of conversation of the 1979 Autumn Tokyo Motor Show was the Yamaha XS1100LG Midnight Special. This eye-catching bike was powered by a 95hp air-cooled 4 cylinder DOHC engine and had a relaxing riding position which allowed the rider to enjoy cruising. In addition, one of the main characteristics of this popular machine was its shaft drive. Furthermore, Yamaha gave this bike a more polished American style through its elaborate chic coloring. Engine, exhaust, tank, handles, and fenders came in black with the light rim, wheel spoke parts, air cleaner case, gasoline tank cap, and emblems all came in a gold coloring which was unique only to the Midnight Special. Announced as an export model in 1979, the greatly appraised XS1100LG was very popular with motorcycle fans all around the world.
