| 【 The 1976 Class Champion 】 During the 1960's, Porsche dominated the 2-liter class sportscar championships. Evolved from the 906, the 910 featured a multi-tube frame which came equipped with a front double wishbone and rear 4-link suspension setup. In addition, the FRP body came beautifully finished with sleek aero dynamics. The Porsche 910 utilized two air-cooled engines, a 1991cc Bosch fuel injected boxer 6-cylinder engine that produced a whopping 220HP/8000rpm, and a more powerful 8-cylinder engine. 1967 saw the 910 not only defeat cars with larger engines but also sweep aside all competitors in its class to claim the 2 liter class championship. In 1968, the Porsche 910 raced at the Japanese GP and won a hard fought 2nd place and continued to race all around the world and won many races. |
