ACHTUNG, JABO!
Here is some modeling magic using Tamiya's Marder III chassis, 20mm Flak38 and plastic sheets, of the self-propelled anti-aircraft gun Sd.Kfz. 140 which has been developed by mounting a 20mm anti-aircraft gun on the Czech 38(t) light chassis. In particular, radio equipment, ammunition boxes, spare gun barrel box reproduce the clutter of the inside combat compartment, and the lightly weathered 3-tone camouflage reveals it's authenticity at first glance.
THE ITALIAN JOB
This scene represents a street corner in North Africa in which the 1/35 Italian army armored vehicle AB41 resin kit from Cri.el Models and the Fiat Topolino from Model Victoria play the leading roles. An effective weathering, a well-balanced disposition of buildings, palm trees and small equipment perfectly render the atmosphere of North Africa.
SHOCK OF THE NEW
The Impreza WRC 2001 has a quiet different appearance with its 4-door body and small diameter headlights. Tamiya's 1/24 hit has been highly detailed up with etching parts for the brake discs, harness and wipers. A thinned out piece of aluminum tubing has been used for recreation of the exhaust pipe. The metallic-blue paint finish makes it a truly beautiful model.
SEEING RED
US Modeler Frank Lee takes the Spanish pilot Carlos Checa's Factory Yamaha YZR500 by the horns. In this article Lee relates his well-honed technique of using CA glue without harming the painted surfaces
