Tamiya's Figure Remodeling Contest is based on customizing 5cm figures from our 1/35 scale Military Miniatures Collection. Entrants use modeling putty, alternate color schemes and all manner of small accessories to transform these figures into entirely new creations. Not limited to simply remodeling figures, contestants also build extremely creative bases and backgrounds, which tell interesting stories and help bring their models to life. |

This year's Gold Award goes to Takashi Yoneyama for his work based on the ancient Egyptian queen Cleopatra. Mr. Yoneyama's richly imaginative choice of theme and his creative execution make his work stand out from the pack. The Silver Award goes to Hidetoshi Shuto for his lively and interesting work depicting Japan of bygone days. The Bronze Award goes to Sanetomo Nagayoshi for his amazingly realistic depiction of tennis star Maria Sharapova. This year we introduced the special "Family Award" and are happy to see that a number of families took part. |
