Viktor Wilck Wins 2012 Reedy Touring Car

The 2012 Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions was held from May 25th to 28th at Nor-Cal Hobbies in California. Tamiya Racing Factory (TRF) drivers Marc Rheinard, Viktor Wilck, Jilles Groskamp, and Akio Sobue fielded the TRF417X as they took on the field in the Invitational Class. Competition was fierce over the eight rounds, and results were unpredictable. Jilles and the Yokomo duo of Ronald Volker and Hayato Matsuzaki were on form during the first half of the rounds, but the second half belonged to Viktor as he racked up wins in three consecutive rounds. His total of five round wins earned him the overall victory and Jilles joined him on the podium with a 3rd place overall finish. Akio Sobue, in his first international race, also put in a good showing to impress the audience. This success will be the perfect springboard for TRF as they continue working towards the IFMAR World Championships in about two months' time.
