Tamiya Holds R/C Race
At Malaysian Grand Prix

Tamiya's official distributor, Stargek Malaysia, played host to the "Kuala Lumpur Grand Prix (KLGP) R/C Race" on March 28th (Sat.) and March 29th (Sun.) at the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. This was an official event which helped commemorate the start of the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix, and was therefore supported by the local government as well as attended by the mayor of Kuala Lumpur. There were 17,000 attendees during the course of the weekend, and this high-profile event was also covered by 100 members of the press from 6 TV stations and 10 newspapers, with their reports reaching both the local community as well as the various countries of Southeast Asia. Tamiya America's David Jun participated as a guest driver during the races, which featured a variety of classes including M-chassis, brushless touring car, and F1 chassis. 120 drivers took part in the exciting races, and they impressed the crowds with their exhibition-style driving, with David himself taking the win in the M-chassis class. |
