The 2009 LRP Touring Car Masters was held from March 27th-29th at Eppelheim, Germany and Tamiya Racing Factory (TRF) had high expectations having swept the podium at the same event last year. The four ace drivers: Marc Rheinard, Viktor Wilck, Jilles Groskamp, and Hupo Honigl joined the competition with their TRF416WE machines. The Masters Class featured 98 of the top works team drivers from all the major manufacturers. Qualifying consisted of four rounds, with the results from the best two rounds determining each driver's final qualifying position. Marc Rheinard recorded the best times of Rounds 1 and 3 to enter the finals as the top qualifier. Jilles was fastest in Round 4 and earned the 2nd place overall qualifying position while Viktor was 2nd in Rounds 3 and 4 to earn the 4th place overall qualifying position. There were 3 rounds in the A-Main Finals. Marc put forth a dominant performance, winning the first two rounds to earn the 1st place podium. Viktor followed 2nd and 4th place finishes with a win in Round 3 to secure the 2nd podium spot while Jilles had finishes of 8th, 2nd, and 2nd place to claim the 3rd podium spot. With these results, TRF claimed a clean sweep of the podium at this event for the second year in a row. Please continue to give your support to Team TRF and their machines in the races to come! |
