To Open At Tressa Yokohama on March 27th

TAMIYA PLAMODEL FACTORY, a new atelier-themed retail outlet produced by hobby product manufacturer Tamiya, Inc. (Headquarters: Shizuoka City, Suruga-ku President: Mr. Shunsaku Tamiya), is scheduled to open on the first floor of the Tressa Yokohama's South Building (Yokohama City, Kohoku-ku) on March 27, 2008. With planning support from SEGA Corp. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Oda-ku President, CEO, & COO: Mr. Osamu Satomi), Imazeki Co. (Headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kawasaki-ku President: Mr. Yasuhiro Imazeki) will be developing and managing the outlet. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Japan's plastic model industry, and this venue will communicate the joy of model building to all generations, from baby-boomers to the children of today. |

【 About the Outlet 】 《 Shop Zone 》 A wide range of Mini 4WD and Educational Construction Series products will be available in addition to Tamiya's scale model products (cars, motorcycles, military miniatures, ships, aircraft, etc.). Additionally, an impressive assortment of tools, paints, and reference materials that are perfect for use in model building will also be available. Furthermore, there are also plans to feature special products and goods. 《 Atelier Zone 》 This zone will enable fans to experience the fun of building models. The ideal workshop layout was created under the supervision of professional modeler Mr. Tatsuya Kaneko(※). This space features a large table that can be partitioned into 20 individual work desks where modelers can immerse themselves in their projects, and the partitions can also be removed to accomodate large groups and events. A painting room and photo-studio complete this fully-equipped facility. ※Born in 1953, Tatsuya Kaneko is a professional modeler and diorama creator whoses works have been featured in magazines, television, and advertisements. He was also the winner of TV Tokyo's popular program "TV Champion Professional Modeler Championship" in 1996 and 1997. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly model magazine Panzergraph!
