TRF415MSXX Wins 2007 Reedy Touring Car Race!

The 2007 Reedy Touring Car Race was held at Tamiya America, Inc.'s track in California from May 26th-27th. TRF (Tamiya Racing Factory) was there in force and our ace drivers displayed their superb setup knowledge and driving technique to take take the top podium finish in two out of three race categories! The Reedy Race features 3 race classes: Invitational, Open Modified, and Open Spec. The Open Classes used the Qualifying & Final Main format and the Invitational Class used an 8 Round format, with the best six results from 8 races used to determine the winner. This year's Invitational Class featured a very international field of 31 elite drivers from around the world. At the end of the first day of racing, TRF driver Marc Rheinard was in 5th place on the standings at 6 points, 2 points from the leader. However, on the second day he turned up the heat, winning one round and taking 2nd in another with some cool driving performances and claimed the championship even before all the rounds had been completed. This win makes it two in a row for Marc, who was also the champion of last year's Reedy Race. In addition, with Viktor Wilck taking 4th place and "Hupo" Hoenigl taking 5th, TRF drivers with their TRF415MSXX cars took 3 out of the top 5 spots in the Invitational Class, clearly demonstrating the machine's outstanding performance for all to see. In the Open Modified Class, Ryan Cavaleri took top honors with his Associated Electric TC5. TRF America driver Rod Canare put in a strong performance and brought home the 3rd place podium for Tamiya. Finally, in the Open Spec Class, TRF America's Corey Lewis put his 2005 TCS GT-1 North American Championship-winning experience to the test against a large field of 100 competitors. Corey did not disappoint, using his expert knowledge to race away with his first Reedy Spec victory. Please continue to give your support to Team TRF and their machines in the races to come! |
